Shh.. We’re Testing!
Over the course of the next few weeks, students will be doing their state testing in Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science (5th and 8th Grade Only). With this in mind, we need your help to ensure that the students are able to do the best they can.
1. Get plenty of sleep. Now is the time to really establish the bedtime hour. Studies show that students who are well rested and get a good breakfast daily do better in their thinking and learning.
2. Eat Breakfast. We also serve breakfast at 8:00 AM here at school. Breakfast is purchased through your child’s lunch account.
3. Be on time. We begin testing at the beginning of our day. All of our 3rd – 8th grades will be testing at some point, so helping your child be on-time and ready for school is important.
To most of us, these sound like daily routines. For some of us, I know there can be extenuating circumstances that get in the way of that daily routine. Thanks to all of you for doing your best to help your child be a part of the best education they can receive. Over the past few years, I can honestly say that this test does give a pretty accurate picture of a student’s ability. Their performance on this test aligns very closely with our own assessment finding in language arts and math.
