This past weekend, we honored our Elna Flynn Outstanding Volunteer Recipients at the 31st Annual Awards Dinner. There were so many wonderful stories and reasons why people volunteer in our schools throughout our District. I was touched by the many stories, and the dedication of each of the recipients to their schools. Our recipients were Mike Day and Mary Norr. Both of these parents have given many years of dedicated service to our schools, and both of these parents (and their spouses), have done the job without a thought of ever being honored publicly for their work.
Here in our school, we also honor an outstanding volunteer with the Ann Rudorf Outstanding Volunteer Award. This year’s recipient is Brad Switzer. Whether he’s organizing the Fog Fest Booth, or taking multiple trips to a closing music store to procure equipment for the band, Brad also spends countless hours helping wherever he can.
